Impact

Sonder created a comprehensive toolkit to help engage and train people in the generous listening approach developed by the Vuslat Foundation. The toolkit included:

  • A facilitation guide to support the creation of listening experiences,
  • Reflection and brainstorming processes, and
  • An experiential framework to engage participants.

Challenge

Vuslat Foundation sought to transform its generous listening research and vision into tangible tools and experiences that would help people understand, practice, and train others in the methodology.

Approach

Through collaborative co-creation workshops with the Vuslat Foundation team, global stakeholders, and subject-matter experts, Sonder translated generous listening principles into practical tools and applications.

Sonder began by carrying out a “discovery scan” to identify relevant approaches, platforms, activities, and innovations. The team then facilitated three workshops focused on understanding obstacles to good listening, exploring toolbox design possibilities, and prototyping engaging generous listening activities. This iterative process rooted in design principles allowed the team to move from abstract concepts to concrete solutions, resulting in a facilitation guide complete with templates and frameworks for creating meaningful generous listening experiences.
